We had a beautiful day on October 23, 2024, for the unveiling of Tonya Hart's "Sky Tower". Everyone was
quite thrilled with the piece and look forward to seeing how it interacts with the environment over the
next year while it is at home in Kirby's Garden.
Thanks to funding provided by The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador (Tourism, Culture, Arts
and Recreation), ArtsNL and the continuing support from the Town of Pouch Cove, the Pouch Cove Public
Art Committee had invited Canadian professional artists to submit an Expression of Interest” for the
outdoor sculpture project. We then shortlisted three artists and invited the public to view the models and
presentations.
The concept behind the Plinth Project is to replace artwork every twelve months, providing a platform for
diverse artistic expressions. The PAPAC remains committed to enhancing the cultural environment of
Pouch Cove, connecting residents, and inviting visitors to the area through our existing and future public
art projects.
