Pouch Cove Public Art Project
Call to Artists – Expression of Interest
Each artwork will remain on-site for 12 months, after which the work will be rotated to a different host
community for another 12 months. Additional rotations may be extended pending community interest and
available funding, offering ongoing opportunities for public engagement.
Artists may propose existing works (completed within the last five years) or new works. Artists may also
submit for one or both artworks, indicating a preferred location if applicable. All artworks must be suitable
for long-term outdoor display and meet public safety and durability standards.
Budget
The budget for each artwork is a maximum of $10,000, covering all project-related expenses, including artist
fees, materials, fabrication, transportation, insurance, and installation. Assistance will be available to help
the artist install the work.
For subsequent rotations, artists will receive:
•
up to $2,500 in exhibition fees
•
up to $750 to support removal and reinstallation
The project will cover transportation between host sites. Artists are responsible only for the final removal of
their work at the conclusion of the project. Artists will retain full ownership of their artworks throughout the
project.
